Heya, heya.

I feel accomplished: I've finally gotten my toddling cutie to start taking her naps in her own bed.  I suppose the novelty of it no longer being a crib but a daybed/toddler bed makes it all possible, but hey, it's good.

I am, however, bored of decorating this place/unpacking all this crap myself.  John hasn't been much help (none at all, in fact) when he's been home and will decide to nap more than anything, making it hard to hang the rest of the pictures or put stuff away in our room.  Oh well.  Speaking of pictures, how many people, when they move in with someone, continue to insist upon old relics of your yesteryears to still be displayed, leaving no room for new pictures of your "new life together" or whatever the heck you call it?

So, could your significant other nix some old photos of you in hopes of hanging new stuff you got together?

The silly old coot gets quite indignant anytime I mention not hanging pictures of him (or awards he received) from when he was, say, 20 or so.  I mean, we could cover our new place solely with the junk he has from when he owned a bus company, though be it not what he does now.  I apparently miffed him for putting one of our fancy-shmancy pictures of Emaleigh in a frame that held a picture of him from when he worked for Bedford Camera & Video... sometime shortly after he got out of high school?  "That picture is in the Ft. Smith museum for my work on archiving photos!" he said.  Well, then he shouldn't mind me putting his daughter over it since it is proudly displayed elsewhere.

Oooh. Aaaah.

I think I've found what I'm getting John for Christmas. It solves the problem of him constantly asking what time it is, and is in his line of humor. *Giggle*

Ack!

So when I decided to go back to school, John started looking at jobs in the DFW area.  He of course had to immediately hit jackpot.  We went down there Thursday and came back yesterday; I got to check out the school and meet all the teachers, even though I wouldn't start until February.  Then John had a job interview for Stewart Enterprises who has Restland and Laurel Land and several other firms down there.  Sure enough he got the job.  He'll be making what he does here in 2/3 the hours.  Only down side is they want him to start on the 8th.  That means we have to rush, rush, rush to get out of this house.  We found an apartment community in Arlington, TX since he'll actually be working in Fort Worth after the first couple weeks down there and Arlington is 1/2 way between his job and my school.  It's nice enough to last through when I get out of school and can get out of 'community living' which I oh so despise.  Having that many neighbors in that small of space is just creepy.. or obnoxious (take your pick.)

I absolutely dread putting Emaleigh in daycare but with his schedule she should only really have to be in it two days a week.  Granted Stewart is also giving me a job for 20-30 hours a week too, and getting my apprenticeship license (so I can talk to families more than "Hi, how are you?") but they seem to think we can work out a good schedule between the two of us so she is home most of the time.  No word yet on which location I'll be working from; I just hope I'll be able to find it. lol.

All good things must come to an end.

Well, Mr Magoo died today, namely sometime between 7 and 11 am. I don't really know when (or specifically of what) since we were all waisting the morning hours at Sparks Hospital to get John's eye checked out since the work nurse couldn't say what was wrong with it. (Yay, workman's comp!) I had loved on him a bit before I packed Em up to get John but when we got home kitty was stiff. At least he was clean, warm and fed before he left... much better than covered in bugs. =\

So yeah, John is home on workman's comp today. =P He apparently scratched his eye while working last night and it turned red and ugly. The work nurse couldn't figure out if something was in there or not, so off to the hospital he had to go. 3 hours of boredom while we're both usually asleep for a 5 minute exam + the pee in a cup routine. Pure excitement.

And since our snooze time had been re-arranged, I totally slept through the call from the some-what whiny Cox repair man who was supposed to check my cable connection. It has been a little wonky lately, dropping connection for 20 min to an hour for no apparent reason. Oh well. I had a connection when I came home from Sparks and it's still up so we'll see how it goes. His voice-mail message was retarded though. For him to be checking my connection between 5 and 7 pm, he calls me at 6:53, apparently parked outside. "Uhh... I'm supposed to check your COX CABLE internet connection and I'm here! (long pause as if I were going to answer him even though he's leaving me a message) Uhh, OK, I'm going to have to leave a door knob note to reschedule the appointment, OK?" Yeah, buddy, sure. You were supposed to call in advance of arrival to make sure someone would be here! C'est la vie.

And because she said so:
